Frequently asked questions
Which eGFR formula does this use?
The race-free CKD-EPI 2021 creatinine equation, which is the current recommended standard for estimating glomerular filtration rate from serum creatinine, age and sex.
What do the CKD stages mean?
G1 is ≥90, G2 is 60–89, G3a 45–59, G3b 30–44, G4 15–29 and G5 under 15 mL/min/1.73m². Staging also considers albuminuria and clinical context.
Is eGFR the same as creatinine clearance?
No. eGFR estimates GFR normalised to body surface area; creatinine clearance (Cockcroft–Gault) estimates clearance and is often used for drug dosing.
Run your whole hospital, not just this tool.
Inside OlivHealth, labs and derived values like eGFR live on the patient record, so trends are visible over time instead of recalculated each visit.
